A passion for horses!

Marie, originally from central France, has been a horse trainer in Kentucky, United States, for several years. In her stables, she puts on the same rubber boots every day—too classic, too dull. From this frustration, an idea is born: to imagine boots and ankle boots with a cowgirl spirit, designed for women who refuse to choose between style and functionality.

Marie creates the Hound & Craft brand, a nod to her dogs, and designs boot models inspired by her passion for horses.

Driven by this creative momentum, she dives in with enthusiasm. But the reality of her professional priorities catches up with her, and the adventure does not take off as she had imagined.

An unlikely meeting!

On the other side of the Atlantic, I—Sophie, originally from the same region—do not know Marie. A lover of boots and ankle boots, always in search of originality, chance would have it that we would meet through my friend, Marie’s sister, who wears those very boots...

Having put my professional activity on hold for several months, this story awakens my artistic and aesthetic sensitivity. Fate brings our two personalities together, and we decide to continue the adventure in collaboration.

Maraboots....

“A meeting is not the result of chance; it is the coming together of two stories.”
This adventure needed a name.
It came to me without much thought, almost like an obvious choice.
Without yet knowing Marie’s story, I decided on my own, driven by my playful spirit and my love of wordplay: Maraboots.

It was only later that the story revealed itself.
I then learned that Marie won her very first horse race with her horse… Mara.

Boots.
A horse named Mara.

The name suddenly made complete sense, as if it had always existed even before being spoken.
Maraboots naturally imposed itself.

Did you say chance!? How strange!
